What is reality? Reality is being in the eighth grade and drinking every day before you went to school so the bullies wouldn’t affect you. Reality is going to a party, meeting a guy and sleeping with him because that’s how you found your worth. Reality is your step-dad molesting you twice, and your Mother still staying with him because she doesn’t believe you. Reality is being so angry at your Mom for doing drugs but then a month later you're doing them with her. Reality is standing before a mirror and tying a belt around your neck as you look for an artery to cut. How do I know that’s reality? Because, that was me. Truth is: God showed me what I really looked like that day in that mirror. He told me that I needed help. Truth is: by the grace of God I was able to forgive my step-dad face to face knowing that he wouldn’t admit a single thing and still being able to forgive him and find peace. Truth is: I know my worth only comes from one man. His name is Jesus Christ. Truth is: I’m now in a Christian college using my gifts to spread the gospel across the world.
