When I was about eight, my mom was killed in a drug deal. I grew up very fast after that. So over the years, I searched for love and relationships in all the wrong places, which usually ended up in men and drugs. I got addicted to drugs. I started with marijuana when I was fifteen. I partied and went to jail regularly. I probably went to jail twenty or more times. I stole from my family. I started selling crack cocaine. I got with my youngest little girl’s dad. He was a drug dealer. We got busted three times within three weeks. The last time we got busted was with felony possession. I was sentenced to eight years in prison. I had the choice then to either go to a teen challenge program or do my time. We were at church one day. I was really shy about going up and stuff. They had just laid, you know it was at the end of the service, and they were like, “Do you accept Jesus? If you do, just raise your hand.” I finally just gave in. God had been working on my heart so much. I just fought Him, but that day at church it’s like He came in. I could feel His presence there. He was like, “Eleonda, go.” So I just went up to the altar and just gave Him everything. Since then, my life has been totally different. My family actually started talking to me again. For a long time, my mom wouldn’t talk to me. Now I am in the process of getting custody back of my kids. I started the process, and I know God has a plan for me. I know Jeremiah 29:11 is what I stand on. I know God has a plan and a purpose and it’s not to harm me or to hurt me.
